Esma ve Murat Ertel (Baba Zula ve Zen)

Her şey iki yaz önce Esma Ertel’in Murat ile dans edip plak dinlerlerken ‘Bizim bu deneyimimizi ve bu nefis koleksiyonumuzu insanlarla paylaşmamız gerek’ demesiyle başladı.

Haberler salındı ve ikili birden kendilerini Balkan Festivallerinden Fethiye koylarına, Zürich pop up klüplerinden Güney İtalya’da yaptıkları turnelerde buluverdi.

Koleksiyonlarındaki plaklardan, teremine uzanan ses evrenlerine, dans odaklı interaktif dj sahnelerine BaBa ZuLa’dan fırsat buldukça devam ediyorlar. Dijital dünyada pek de fazla varlık göstermeden kulaktan kulağa sürdürüyorlar bu maceralarını.

It all began two summers ago, when Esma Ertel turned to Murat while they were dancing and listening to records and said:

*”We have to share this experience—and this incredible record collection—with people.”*

Word spread quickly, and before they knew it, the duo found themselves playing everywhere from Balkan festivals and the bays of Fethiye to pop-up clubs in Zürich and tours across Southern Italy.

Whenever they’re not on the road with BaBa ZuLa, they continue building their unique sonic universe—moving effortlessly from their carefully curated vinyl collection to the ethereal sounds of the theremin, creating interactive, dance-driven DJ sets. Staying mostly out of the digital spotlight, they let their journey grow the old-fashioned way: by word of mouth.
